You see, there is no need to think too long about a question or suggestion, we are not far away.

(We use city as example; change the word “city” to your city-name while creating the ads)

• Log in to your Google AdSense account
• Go to “AdSense Setup” – 2^nd tab on top
• Then go to “Get Ads”
• Choose “AdSense for content”
• Click on “Single page” and choose “Link Unit”
• Further down you select “728×15” – “4 links per unit”
• The colors need to be: Border FFFFFF – Links 000000 – Background FFFFFF
• Choose “Fill space with a solid color” and type “FFFFFF”
• Reuse colors – you tick the box “yes”
• Then you “Add new channel” (click link below your channel list – maybe u get a security warning on top of your browser)
• Type “cityinformer LU under header” as the new channel
• Name the ad “cityinformer LU under header 728×15, created…”
• Click “Submit and get code” and there you go, you have the “google_ad_slot” number right there
• Write it down or get it from “manage Ads” section (there you can copy-paste)
• Open the Bigcityinformer Admin Page in a new window – select Big City Informer Advertising Revenue Sharing  and paste this number into “ad-slot linkunit”
• And step number 1 is done – Congratulations

Let’s quickly go back to AdSense and create another Ad:

• “Get Ads” – “AdSense for content” – “Single page” – choose “Ad unit” and select “Text and image ads”
• Choose “336 x 280” as the format
• Select the colors: Border FFFFFF – Title 000000 – Background FFFFFF – Text 7F7F7F – URL 7F7F7F
• Set the font to “Arial” – size is “Large”
• Do not choose a corner style
• Alternate ads or colors – choose “fill space with a solid color” and type “FFFFFF”
• Create a new channel again – name it “cityinformer inpost text”
• Name the Ad “cityinformer inpost text 336×280, created …”
• Press “Submit and get code” and voila, the next “google_ad_slot” number will show up.
• Paste this “google_ad_slot” number in the Big City Informer Advertising Revenue Sharing page into “ad_slot inpost”
• The last step is – go back to AdSense – copy your publisher code (pub-123456789) from the upper right hand side of the page and paste it into Big City Informer Advertising Revenue Sharing “Your Advertising ID”

Make sure you really enter above settings correctly as we cannot change this later on and your ads might not show up correctly otherwise. And we are quite sure you want your Ads to show often and correctly.

And that’s it already; every article you publish will have the link-unit under the header and the in-post ad with your own AdSense publisher ID (8 out of 10 impressions – revenue sharing 80%). Those are the best converting positions on our pages. Google updates the stats daily, so you should see some impressions and hopefully clicks of your ads in your Google AdSense stats soon.

Important: Do not (and this is spelled – N E V E R) click on your own Ads – Google will quickly block your account with no chance of ever applying again. Earned money is lost in this case. The web is full of disgruntled Ex AdSense users saying things like “I never clicked on my own Ads, I just wanted to see how it works or if it shows up in the stats” or so. Even one click can be enough to get you banned forever. It doesn’t matter if you are logged in to your AdSense account or not. We believe even in Internet cafes they have Google staff checking up on you. Do also avoid reloading your own article pages too often as this would inflate the statistics and is also detected easily from Google. Remember, they are much smarter than we are. And a blocked AdSense account might not be too helpful for the future of an internet marketer. Good Luck

You are only allowed to publish your own news, no copies from other websites or sources. The content you deliver has to be unique, meaning you won’t publish the same anywhere else and it hasn’t been published anywhere on the net before. In short – write your own content. You are solely responsible for the content in your news, including text, data, images and video.

Any content which goes against the law (e.g. content that contains defamatory, libellous, tortuous, vulgar, obscene, violent, invasive of privacy, racially or ethnically objectionable or hateful terms, promotes or provides instructional information about illegal activities, or promotes any act of cruelty to animals, gambling etc.) is not allowed. You will not use the Big City Informer News Network to violate any federal, state or local laws. Your news must comply with all local laws regarding online conduct and acceptable content. You may not publish any confidential information you might have access to. All the news you publish have to be in English language. You may only use content to which you have the necessary rights, including (but not limited to) intellectual property rights regarding copyright, trademark, and trade secrets. You must have permission to use third party content from the content owners.

Our network covers news, no self promotion or any sort of advertising of your own events or products and services or overly promotional articles. Also useless articles with no real content are not allowed on our network and will get you banned. Links inside the news are not allowed and would also not help your earnings. Spamming won’t be accepted.

You have to follow the Google AdSense terms and conditions. Google AdSense will track all earnings and deliver all payments to you in accordance with your agreement with them. Netventure24 LLC does not track revenues associated with Google AdSense. By using the revenue sharing service, you acknowledge and agree that Netventure24 LLC will not be responsible for, and will not be obligated in any manner to repay you for any lost earnings.

You will not hack the website or modify any news that are not your own.  You may not remove, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer any Big City Informer News Network software or use any network monitoring or discovery software to determine the website architecture. You won’t impersonate another Author or any representative or employee of Netventure24 LLC. You will not disrupt the Big City Informer News Network service or any servers by embedding code in the news or by otherwise attacking the service.

You understand and agree that as part of this agreement, you may receive certain communications from Netventure24 LLC, such as account creation confirmations, service announcements, administrative messages and any of the opt-in newsletters. If you do not want to receive such messages from Bigcityinformer, cancel your account.

As an Author you will be able to incorporate different types of content into your news. Netventure24 LLC does not claim ownership of the content you place in your news. The content will be owned by you or a third party from whom you got permission to post the content. By publishing news on our network, however, you grant Netventure24 LLC a worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license, for as long as your news is displayed on the Big City Informer News Network, to reproduce, display, modify, adapt and publish the content solely for the purpose of displaying, distributing and promoting your news on the Big City Informer News Network. Netventure24 LLC may preserve and store content, and may also disclose content if required to do so by law or if Netventure24 LLC believes in good faith that such preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (a) comply with legal process (e.g., subpoenas); (b) enforce these terms and conditions; (c) respond to claims that any content violates the rights of third parties; or (d) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Netventure24 LLC, its users and the public.

Apart from many other ways to share your content, one of the best options is to share the news in Facebook. All the News you publish will get automatically posted to the Big City News Facebook page. But you should share the news on your own Facebook wall as well. This can be done manually every time you post some news, or much better fully automated.

Since we are also linked to NetworkedBlogs this is quite easy. Friend this Facebook Profile and ask to be included in the NetworkedBlogs author list. We will add you there and then you can do the settings here – Big City Informer on NetworkedBlogs.

Once you are activated as an author there you have the option to edit “Feed Settings” on the right side. Just tick the box “Auto-Publish to personal profile” and you are done. Thats’s it. The next time there is some news published, it will show up on your profile automatically. Including a picture if there is one in the article.

In case you have your own Facebook Fan-page you can do the same for there. So get this done and publish fresh news to test it out now…

1. You find one of your published news
2. Below the news you have the “author box”
3. There you click on your name
4. Copy the URL of the page that opens now
5. And now you link to that page from your own blog-page or website.

About Yourself

• Biographical Info – you can share some info about yourself here. Can only be seen from Site Admins at the moment, not from other Informers or your readers. Might be public at a later stage.
• New Password – you can change your password here. Do this after your first log-in and use a strong password. Explained on the page directly. Also change periodically.

Intense Debate

Here you can register with Intense Debate or enter your details if you have already registered. Intense Debate is used on the Big City Informer News Network for the commenting system. Their web-interface tracks your comments, gives rankings and takes care of spam for all of us. Once you enter your details here you have the links for this show up right here inside the admin panel for you. You can also auto-log-in so you never really have to do anything with it again. It is working for you in the background.

Twitter Credentials and Sharing

Enter your Twitter username and password (this is not visible for any other users, not even admins can see it). You should tick the box “Share new blog posts” – that way every new post you make will be tweeted out from your twitter account as well as ours. This brings in more readers. Only News you publish will be tweeted via your account.

Now click the “Update Profile” button to save all your changes and you’re done. You can change your profile  details anytime. That was easy, right?

Communicate with your readers and you will get a loyal readership which will always check out your newly published News. This will also encourage your fans to comment on your posts directly which in turn increases the traffic to your articles. The Fan page is growing steadily, please do suggest the page to your Facebook friends as well and ask them to do the same.

More fans attract even more fans and this increases the overall traffic and Buzz about our pages. All published news will show on the fans “stream”. This is how a Facebook Fan Box can look like on another website:

On the Big City Informer News Network these tags are used especially for the search engines. Each news you publish should have 5 to 10 tags. That way readers can find the news while searching on Google, Bing, Yahoo or any other search engine.

The tags you use should simply highlight the main points of the news. So if you write about the president of America, then your news should be tagged with “President of America”, “Barack Obama”, “White House”, “US Government” and “Washington” for example.

Tags are also used partially for Google to figure out what Ads to show on your page. So if you do a good job tagging your news then more people will find your article and will also see related Ads which might be clicked more often than non-related advertisements

On the lower right side of all Informer pages you can also see a field where the most used tags are shown. This helps readers navigate the page. The most used tags are highlighted and will be visited more often. While publishing you can also access the “most used tags” directly under the “Post Tags” field. If some of them match perfectly, use them instead of creating your own new tags.

News on the Network are also sorted by those tags, and special pages with all news under a certain tag are available for search engines and readers. So lets say you are interested in events, you can check all articles filed under the tag “Events” under the link Events.

By now you have probably figured out the importance of “Tagging” your news. But careful – If you use completely miss-matching tags readers will not return to your news since they never get what they expect. Also the use of too many tags (more than 10) will rather hurt, since the search engines will rate you lower and readers will be confused about the content of the news. Choose the tags wisely and you attract more readers which in turn will bring you a higher revenue. It is worth it, go try it out now…

Just head over to Gravatar and register with the same email you use in your Informer account. Then you upload or choose the picture you want to show and ta-da, your done.

This picture will show up next to your name in the author box on the Big City Informer News Network  (as you can see here on the right side) and also on your comments made via the same email address. Even if you comment on other blogs which use the Gravatar feature (most WordPress blogs do) it will show your picture. Obviously only if you use the same email address. Different email address – different picture of course.

And if you get a new haircut, have a new make-up color or maybe even change your whole identity, you just go back to the Gravatar guys and upload a new picture. It will get changed everywhere it was used.
